Busy-ness....:)

I dedicated myself to sewing a few days ago.  It was a lot of fun.  I completed 6 pillow cases, 3 bibs, 1 potholder, 4 napkins that look like Christmas trees, and 1 place mat all in 1 day.

I forgot how much fun sewing can be.  I really wanted to go to a new fabric store and knew my pile of unused fabric needed a purpose before I could justify buying more.

The Quilt Barn was awesome.  I stood in the entrance just taking it all in for a few minutes.:) I did come home with a bag of super cute fabric.  More projects to come.:)  Happy New Year! A blog that truly touches my heart and all should read www.kellehampton.com.  Kelle wrote "I am capable of so much. And I am excited at the opportunity of new challenges, more love..."  what a great message for the new year.  God Bless.

A "whoot...whoot" for walmart!

Christmas was amazing!  Magical when you have little ones.  Elves seem to sneak around stuffing your ears with magical dust while you sleep.  Between Santa, Mom, and the grandparents the 3 things that my girl really wanted came to be.  So thank you gma and Santa.:)

This is the HOly COW!!!!  face(I got what I wanted)

The family.

Okay-  Here is my shout out to Wally world!  I was there a couple days ago, walked by the fabric center and BAM!  There it was, this cute little apron material and pattern all for $2.22.

I picked up enough to make three.  I had to alter it a bit.  I put a back on it because I think it looks more finished and cute.  So total cost around $3.50!  Cute.  This is the first thing I have sewn in years besides a blanket or burp cloth.

Thanks Wally world for your cheap corprate material and a special "whoot"  to Mrs. Kinyon my home ec. teacher from back in the day.  With out you, I wouldn't have been able to do this.

Last 2 days!!!!

What have I learned?  I hate blogging everyday! I love it when I don't have to do it.:)

Who am I?  Hmmmm......I'm a Mom, wife, sister, friend, daughter, and so much more.  A lover of life and love.  I love to craft, teach, and laugh.  I love to cry with compassion and smile without fear.  I love God and his mysteries.  I love to learn and grow and hope that my children do the same.  I love silly things, fun things, and ice cream.  I am happy with the person I am.....and dammit I'm not changing.  I'm glad I did the blog challenge but I think I'll stick to weekly posts,:)

I was thinking today isn't it funny we convince our children Santa is real, the tooth fairy takes your tooth and leaves you money, and that the Easter bunny gives you chocolate yet, when they are scared of the dark or a monster we tell them "Don't be silly."  Just a thought.

Well Merry Christmas to all.  I hope Santa brings you what you want and God touches your heart this Christmas.

Day 12 and 13

Day 12-

Why I blog?

Well, it's for all those who want to read it.  Like a letter to all, to get to know me better or laugh because they know me so well.  lol.....The person that inspired me to blog is my cousin Jake's wife Natalie.  I don't see them or talk to them in person as much as I would like, so to read her blog helps me feel connected to them.  I wanted that for me and other people.  Busy, busy, today.  Baby boy had shoots, I had errands to run, wheeew.

Day 13-

A letter to someone whom has hurt you.

I have been dreading this one.

Dear person-who-shall stay-unnamed,

I don't understand what I did?  Why after 10 years are you still angry, resentful, and rude?  I have tried to make amends with you multiple times and failed.  This is my attempt to say "Hi.  Let's be friends again." letter.  Hope some day we can.

Day 7- Biggest impact

Day 7, person who has impacted your life?  Well my family, my husband and children.  Just a few days ago we celebrated our 9th anniversary, we are blessed with truly great friends who watched our three small children for us.  I made steak and crab legs, the whole works, all in the comfort of our home.  We snuggled on the couch and watched a movie.  I thought to myself how strange it would be to not have three little blessings in my life.  Sure there wouldn't be endless loads of laundry and dishes, etc.  But the joy that they give me far outweighs the toil of chores.  Like the sweet little comments and snuggles at night, and the soft cheeks for kissing, the sweet snuggle my son gives early in the morning, outstretched arms.  And the list goes on.  On this Thanksgiving Day I'm truly thankful for my Husband and children, may our Lord always bless us.

Because we all need a little Aloha.....

Because I feel a vaca is badly in need, I'm blogging about one of my favorites.  Beautiful Kauai.  Need I say more.  Above is the beach in front of our room, yes room not hotel.  It was ours.  People came and went but by 5 in the afternoon it was ours.  Heaven......insert sigh here.
When 2 Idaho boys arrive on the island.  Hehe   look at Jay's feet.
Our room was gorgeous!  Tell me, does it not make you want to throw yourself down, arms open like a child?

My very favorite beach.  It's uninhabited and rural and so Hawaii.  We took a little winding road to get here.  Along the way there was a lady selling coconuts to eat/drink.  This my friends is the beaches of Hannali.  Yep, like the song.  Come on..... Puff the Magic Dragon.  If I was a dragon, I would live here too.
May I offer you a Mai tie?
 Sailboats at dusk.....................
Just one of the flowers that help make Hawaii smell amazing.  Well my ode to Kauai must end, but until we meet again.  Aloha....

Candy crusaders!

Hmmmmm......Where do I start.  This year we had Annaliese as Minnie Mouse, Emma as a Tiger, and Cameron as Elmer Fud and (brace yourselves Mark and Meg)a BSU football player.  Let's face it U of I doesn't have a  standing and the costume was free.:) I made a little flag he carried that said "Be very quiet, I'm hunting 'wabbit's!"  I was also duel parts as Snow White and a Kitty Cat.  We had four days of Halloween at our house!  Thursday, my preschoolers dressed up and had our party, Made hot dog mummies and popcornballs.  Friday was Annaliese's school party, we watched How to Train Your Dragon.  Very cute, if you have not seen it, you really must.  I made 30 popcorn balls and handmade her outfit.  Saturday we had a birthday/Halloween party at some friends.  So much fun!  Cute little gobblers ran all over the place.  And yesterday, after a church meeting we carved pumpkins with the kids and went out for The official Candy Crusade.  Needless to say my children now have heaps of candy and other treats from those we love and like wise.  It really was a great Halloween.

Love- Crystal

P.S.  I think popcorn balls should replace jelly beans at Easter.  They are so good to have just once a year.  What do you think?

The Destination wedding!

A few weeks ago we were blessed to go to a destination wedding to beautiful McCall Idaho.  It was pristine. The lake, the Mountains, and the Resort.  The Bride and groom were gorgeous and so sweet.  Thank you Kate and Justin. The band was awesome.  The food was great. Our Lady of The Lake church was breathtaking.  We danced 'till our toes hurt and may have drank a wee bit much.:)  We walked down town and enjoyed the sites of small town America.  My kids loved every minute.  Yesterday, Annaliese says to me"The Shore Lodge was the bestest hotel I have ever been to."  I smiled and agreed and we talked about all the fun we had.  Thank you N's again for letting us be part of your very special and beautiful day.

Here we go.

Okay, after becoming a bit of a blog junkie, I have decided to start one up.  Hope you enjoy.  New stuff very soon.   Crafty Mama
